This was the day that everyone had been waiting for, the Slow Food Messe in Torino. The bus ride consisted of everyone sitting down for an hour and a half, and getting each other pumped for a great day filled with tasting food. We entered the great hall, after having cut the longest line. Everyone was divided into different little groups, where the one that I walked around with consisted of Susie, Signe, Benedikte, and Joy. We walked through the area, marvelling at all the different foods that were being presented, ranging from oils, chocolates, cakes, dips, bread, cheese, meat, and ice cream.

This, was only for the Italian section though. Several hours where spent in this section, but when we walked towards the International section, which was not even a quarter the size of the Italian section. What was most surprising was that even though these were the non-Italian booths, the people still spoke only Italian. With the four euros that we were given from the teachers, we got some lunch and wandered around, seeing the different things that had to be seen, and buying what had to be bought. When it was half past three, everyone was outside, enjoying yet another wonderful day. After a few minutes of trying to figure out what we were to do, we walked to the bus, which drove us towards the city centre, where we were then allowed two hours of wandering. These two hours, which is in fact not a very long time, flew by, as there were so many different shops that just had to be goggled at. Once these two hours had passed, then we all met at a statue of some soldier in the middle of a park, which was clearly the spot to go with a lover. Finally all together again, we walked towards our dinner sight, where we had penne with a tomato sauce and a ravioli type pasta filled with a meat ball thing and tomato sauce as well, accompanied by three different types of breads. We were then served a fried, extremely thing slice of calf meat with potatoes. After a long days of eating different samples, and having a wonderful dinner, we rode back to the Ostello to either enjoy a good night’s sleep, or to go out to a pub and ‘hygge’ with Lars and Andrea.
