Celine Raffel

19 years old, France

-I had finished high school this summer and was not yet ready to attend university. I had lived my whole life in France, and thought this was the last chance I had, to learn how to cook and discover Denmark at the same time. Celine’s parents are both Danish, and therefore she knew the language, but was not so acquainted with the Danish culture.

-I think I have learned everything. I lived at the school, and thus moved directly into the center of Copenhagen. I have gained the best of friends, and have learned so much about myself and the Danish culture as well.

The whole school system has been a good experience. It is much more personal and friendlier than in France, especially the teachers’ attitude towards the students, which is very friendly and open.

-I have taken many courses, such as a freelance waiter, which I can use when I begin to study again, and I also took a hygiene certificate. All the days are filled with new experiences. There are theme days, and the school and students are also involved when there are happenings in Copenhagen, such as the Culture Night or the Copenhagen Fair.

Celine plans to apply to the Copenhagen Business School, SPRØK.

-I think that I will be able to use everything that I have learned. Madakademiet is the place for those who dare take a chance, and who dare give themselves an opportunity for much more than just an education. The school is more like a second home to me. To think that one can learn so much without having homework.
