22 years old, Romania

-I applied to Madakademiet to learn how to cook and take care of myself. My friend from Romania had studied here before, and she recommended the school to me. I have become better than before in all three areas; language, culture and food.

-I have gotten to know Danes in a whole new way. I am well acquainted with Denmark, as I have been vacationing here since I was six years old. I was also acquainted with traditional Danish food before, such as pork roast and red cabbage, but now I can and want to cook a whole range of new things.

Mariana thinks that the wide variety of courses available at Madakademiet has been very fun.

-I have gone to choir, “Personal insights”, and outdoor life. I have also had the opportunity to learn how to use a drill in my “Do it yourself class.”

-The school has meant a lot to me. I can talk to everyone, and the teachers are also there to talk to all the time. A lot of things have happened during my course, and now I believe much more in myself than I did before. I know what I want, now, and after my course is finished.

Mariana is going back to language school after Madakademiet, and when her course there is finished, she will apply to VUC to prepare for an education as a pedagogue at a kindergarten.
